Personality: When meeting new people, he’s shy at first but after he gets to know them, he can open up a bit and be himself. He has a raging temper that he often has difficulty controlling. Even though he may seem sincere at the time, Kyo dislikes the way his temper really gets out of control. It’s the primary reason he believes he was never meant to be around other people.

Training in martial arts and staying in shape has always been a pastime of Kyo's.

If Kyo has any interest whatsoever, he almost never turns down a contest, even if it a simple game.

• Meat

Kyo is a simple man with simple pleasures. Eating lots of food, particularly meat, is something that he can't get enough of.

People who think they are born better than other people irritates Kyo beyond measure.

Kyo's least favorite food item in existence is a leek.

• Being Made Fun Of

Kyo has an outrageous temper that can be set off at the drop of a hat. Having fun poked at him is something that can all too easily trigger his anger.

Kyo is driven by his will to succeed and show others that he is a capable mage.

Joining a guild has been Kyo's sort of last-ditch effort to find friends to accept him and look past his temper.

• Getting Better at Dealing with Other People

Kyo's violent temper had always been a source of grief for him. It was his temper that got him to believe that he was never meant to be around other people. However, he still has a secret desire to overcome that struggle and interact with people better.

Even though he will never admit to being afraid of anything, Kyo secretly fears the possibility of being completely alone in the world.

• Not Progressing

Kyo has a deep fear that there is a limit as to how much he can grow. If some accident were to happen to him where he would no longer be able to use magic or exert himself physically, he would be devastated.

• Ghosts

Kyo has never admitted to anyone of his secret fear of ghosts. Despite his tough-guy act, he can barely stand to listen to ghosts stories.

Appearance: Standing at a height just under six feet, Kyo is tall and relatively muscular for his height and weight. His habits of training on a daily basis keep his body fit. His musculature is the reason for him being slightly heavier than the average male his age. Due to Kyo’s lack of caring to wash his clothes, he is most often seen wearing the same outfit: a black v-neck t-shirt and a pair of dark khaki cargo pants. In the colder months, Kyo will sometimes throw a button down shirt over the top of his black one. He never buttons the shirt down, though. On the times when he is not wearing his usual attire, he is usually seen in casual or athletic clothes such as cargo shorts, sport shorts or even sweat pants. Kyo rarely goes out to buy his own clothes but when he does, he prefers to have comfort and practicality in his clothes rather than fashion. Kyo's lack of sense for fashion can occasionally cause him to wear something totally ridiculous. He's never worn any sort of formal attire, such as a shirt and tie in his life. Kyo is also in a habit of not wearing shoes. It's only when there is snow on the ground that he will actually put them on.

Description: Kyo casts spells that transform parts, or his entire body to those that resemble a certain animal. Many of the animals he can transform into are based off of creatures that were thought to be fictional such as a minotaur or a werewolf.
Strengths: Kyo can transform into a variety of beasts which gives him an edge for diversity. He can endure and overcome any kind of wilderness. In fights, he has many modes of attack to defeat an opponent.
Weaknesses: The general danger of takeover magic is a loss of control. Takeover is based on the idea that the caster’s soul is taking over the soul of a beast in order to take on their form. However, if the soul of the beast that is being taken over is too powerful, the results can be disastrous. Much like a real werewolf, a takeover mage who has lost control can no longer recognize friend from foe and simply runs wild like an animal. Takeover magic is extremely difficult for this reason and it makes it even more difficult for it to be used in a fight.

History:
Kyo was born in Magnolia to a single mother who raised him as best as she could. However, she was often overly protective of Kyo for reasons that he was never able to understand. It was only when he first discovered his magical abilities as a mage that he finally realized why. Kyo was out in the backyard of his house when it happened. He was trying to find cool and unusual bugs out in the grass when he found a praying mantis. Kyo had never seen one before and simply watched it do it's own thing. He watched how the mantis used its arms to reach out and strike it's prey with lightning fast movement. He suddenly got the idea in his head that he would try the same thing. As Kyo stood up in the middle of the yard, he held his arms up like a mantis and just as he was about to strike the air in front of him, there was some kind of explosion. Kyo was sent flying back onto his butt and his mother frantically rushed out to see what had happened. Her eyes widened with horror at the sight of Kyo's arms turning into those of a giant mantis. The arms soon vanished as quickly as they appeared and Kyo slowly got back up onto his feet, clutching his head and wondering what had just happened. His mother soon began scolding him even though he had no idea why. When his mother finally realized that Kyo honestly had no idea what happened, she heaved a sigh of relief and proceeded to tell Kyo about his father. Kyo had never met his father, but apparently he was a mage as well. A takeover mage. Apparently he attempted to perform a takeover that was far above his level. As a result, he lost his mind to it. He was nothing more than a beast that was hunted and eventually killed. The sudden revelation as to the demise of his father made Kyo...angry. Kyo had constructed ideas that his father was some amazing warrior who died on the field of combat taking the lives of hundreds of bad guys with him. The story he had just heard though was just the opposite. His father was weak. He did a foolish thing and died because of it. From then on, Kyo hated his father he never met. When Kyo was 12, his mother fell sick and died less than a year later. Word of Kyo's magical ability had spread across town and no one wanted to try and take care of a child who would transform into a beast at any moment. Kyo decided he would live on his own. He lived in the forests and mountains that surrounded Magnolia and grew accustomed to his magical ability. It was during this time that Kyo lost his touch and skill for dealing and communicating with other people. His wild temper was his driving force for survival in the wilderness and he tends to rely on it too much in civilized life. When Kyo turned 16, he decided he would try and find a job in town. By then, most people would not recognize him so chances that he would be identified as his fathers son were low. He spent a year working for a fishing merchant in Magnolia. During one of these fishing trips, his boss discovered Kyo's takeover abilities, yet was not frightened of him. Instead, he told Kyo to go join the mage guild Fairy Tail. After some convincing, Kyo agreed and gathered what possessions he could call his own in preparation for joining Fairy Tail.

Kyo walked the streets of Magnolia in the best clothes he had, which were his black v-neck shirt and cargo pants. As he walked, he couldn't seem to quell the butterflies in his stomach. He had no idea what was going to happen. He had no idea if he could make the cut. He knew that Fairy Tail was a prestigious guild in the kingdom of Fiore, and he never even dreamed of applying to join. He had arrived in front of the guild house and he looked up at the guild symbol above the door. He stared at it for quite some time and some kids who were strolling by were watching him. "Jeez look at that weirdo over there. He's just staring at it. What's he doing?" A blood vessel popped out on Kyo's temple as he overheard the kids. He turned on his heel and shouted at the top of his lungs. "SHADAHP!! I was just lookin alright?!? Now SCRAM, kids!" The children's faces were soon filled with terror and quickly fled the scene. As they ran, Kyo heaved a sigh and turned back to the guild. 'This is going to be tough.' he thought to himself before he opened the doors and walked inside.
